The day after the awakening we all got our new teams which we had been dreading, they read the names off and we were instructed to seek the Lord for the next few hours in silence and process the transition. God and I sat and talked about His nature and what the new covenant means in the space and time continuum, this didn’t have anything to do with my new team, I had a peace about them and just wanted to chat with him about the nature of free will. After we spent awhile on that I started to mull over what I thought I had to offer each of my new teammates and what they would teach me, then things got crazier because I started having visions of things for these people. I continued to write my notes of what there was to learn and just as I finished I had an outright , plain as day, right in front of my eyes movie style vision of our team in Africa. We walked into town , it looked like a village or a market place. A woman was sweeping on her hands and knees in the foreground, everyone was looking our direction before we even came into view like they felt us coming. We stopped in a clump and surrounding us was a visible darkness. Like it wasn’t black, but the air surrounding us was visibly darker than the bright day surrounding us. I knew a few things about this scene. I knew that the image was inverse and that our dark cloud was good and that the brightness of the day was a lie and that the demons inhabited this false light. I knew that the darkness surrounding us was supernatural, a flashlight in the dark is nice but not extraordinary, but a flash of dark in the day is impossible. I knew that the presence in that place had sensed us coming, long before we arrived and was afraid and I knew we were going to be getting attacked.
I wrote this vision down and tucked it into my bag to share later with my new team. A few hours later we met for a team debrief with our coaches, alumni squad leaders and peer squad leaders. Our new team leader Andrea was reading a verse that she felt about our team, 2 Samuel 22. I was totally listening to start with but she has a very soft voice and then I started seeing light surrounding Jess and a whole crazy vision. When I was finally able to pay attention again I was wayyyyyy lost and had no idea what was going on. When Andrea finished Jacob, one of our alumni squad leaders says “I think Rachelle has an explanation for the word and that Tom has words for someone”. I had only heard a quarter of the verse I didn’t know what was going on so I told him “no I don’t” and Tom said his peace to Jess about being special. I hadn’t shared the vision in debrief because I really felt like it sounded crazy, dark clouds sounds like bad business.
That night in feedback I shared the vision and people didn’t apparently think that I was crazy. After feedback Andrea told me that she thought the vision tied into the verse. I didn’t know what to say, I still didn’t know what it said so that night I went and read it. 2Sam 22:10-12″ He bowed the heavens also, and came down With darkness under His feet. He rode upon a cherub, and flew; And He was seen upon the wings of the wind. He made darkness canopies around Him, Dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.” What?
Once I saw the parallel I confessed to Jacob he had been right and that I had not been paying attention and that is why I didn’t know it.
