I am 29 ¾ years old and until yesterday I had visited a natural lake. Growing up in southern California the Pacific ocean was a constant, and totally taken for granted. Growing up in Walnut frequent visits to the local creek was par for the course but that was all. When I was 18 years old  I went away to college in Eugene, Oregon. I would hear people talk about the river and assumed there were talking about the stretch of water the ducks swam on behind the burger king. I believed that for a good while, then I told someone who was talking about the river that I knew about it there behind the burger king, they laughed and set me straight. When I was 19 years old I saw the massive Willamette river for the first time. I saw lake Mead at 14 and lake Arrowhead and Big Bear lake too, some where after 20.  The Arno river at 23. The Medeteranian sea at 26. This is the Kenyan side of lake Victoria.
