Our contacts here in Busia have blessed us amazingly with a wonderful house to live and Lucas who cooks for us. Today we went down to the church to try and bless them back a little bit. There are a few out buildings adjacent to the church. One was apparently built by L squad and the other was started by M or N squad. By started I mean a foundation was set and a frame was erected. O squads contribution was tin walls. We were able to bless our contacts by purchasing the materials and supplying labor. 15 people are far too many for erecting walls, especially when there is only one hammer so 3 of the boys went to build and the rest of us found another worthy pursuit, chasing the school children.

Nathan definitely started it having walked up to them in the universally understood pose of monster. The children shrieked and ran. After realizing that the available work was limited the

rest of us also became monsters. Chasing and catching and spinning. After about 20 minutes the children abandoned us and headed back to class.  We loitered with nothing to do for a few minutes
until pastor Steve emerged from the church with a few hoes and a shovel, he handed them to Salley who advised us that we were to pull
grass in an 18 inch boarder around the church. I had given my work
gloves to Jer so that he would not get cut since he was working with the
metal, and was not entirely keen on pulling grass with my bare hands since it has
been reported that there are parasites that will burrow in your feet is
you walk around barefoot. So I went into the main church building and
began to rummage around the shed to see if there were any other tools to
be found. I found 2 shovels when pastor Steve appeared behind me and
announced he was looking for a wheelbarrow. There wasn’t one in there, but thinking the wheelbarrow was for he pulled grass I announced the silver plastic tub
would do the job just fine and he agreed. We walked out together into
the yard, past the grass pullers to my confusion. He led me to the pile
of rocks in front of the new building and explained that we were going
to move the dirt and rocks from that place to another.  I dug and filed
the silver tub with J. Becks  and would catch my breath while Becks and
Wycliffe emptied the tub by the school. Half way though I realized we
were filling in puddles.

Once the puddles by the school were finished , I began flinging dirt into the puddle next to the new building. Before to long Wycliffe replaced J.Becks and  I held on as long as I could but eventually Nathan took my place shoveling dirt into the puddle. I sat in the sun and drank my water for a little bit and then moved my chair into the shade. I sat there sulking for a little bit and then walked over to the new building. I had an interesting conversation on the differences between the 42 tribes that make up the Kenyan people. The children came out again and I took pictures of everyone playing. It was a very good day of ministry.

At present I am several thousand dollars short of my support goal and am in danger of being pulled off ministry to support raise full time, please pray about supporting my mission. Thank you  for reading and for your support.
