Our first week at light and salt! Once we got settled in, our host took us out for ice cream. When we were done, the guys and I walked around town. Found two boys playing basketball and just got wrecked! We didn’t play long because it was so embarrassing… We also found a pool hall.. we also got our first culture shock. When we got back our host told us to stay away from the pool hall because around here they don’t think you can drink (which we weren’t), play pool, cards, or even listen to music other than christian of you are a christian.

Tuesday through Thursday we got to spend time with the kids. In the morning the age group is about 10-15 and in the afternoon it’s around 8 except an older student that is helping in the class. We have different stuff going on everyday, whether that is English, art, sports, or chess. For the most part the kids know a little English so we can kinda communicate with them. It’s been a lot of fun helping to prove their English. We have done English lessons in class as well as on the soccer field. They love trying to make each other say something in English by telling them it means one thing but in reality it means something different.
