I sat in the office this afternoon flipping through files and filling out paperwork so that some of the precious children at SCH could be declared eligible for adoption. File after file…. ‘Abandoned.’ ‘Found in the bushes.’ ‘Left at Hospital.’ ‘Relinquished by mother.’ ‘Family not traced.’ And then I saw it… “She was given a name that meant ‘worthless child’.”

‘She was given a name that meant worthless child’.

Over and over I read…. ‘she was given a name that meant worthless child‘.

I found her picture on the front of the file and just stared at her. Every time someone called her, she heard ‘Worthless’! Over and over again. Her name. Her identity.

Questions began to surge through my mind. Why would anyone…? How could…? What kind of…? Who could think….?

As tears welled up in my eyes, I felt the Lord whisper ‘I KNOW HER. I HAVE NEVER TAKEN MY EYES OFF OF HER. SHE IS BEAUTIFUL. SHE IS MINE. SHE IS PRECIOUS TO ME’

Meet Victoria…. Beloved of God. Daughter of the King. Precious in the eyes of her Maker. Created to bring Him joy. Full of purpose!
