I am beyond excited for whatever this next year and a half will bring. First, let me introduce myself…My name is Rachel. I have two incredible parents and one awesome sister!! I grew up outside of Chicago and moved to Texas after college. I lived there for several years before heading to Alabama. Up until January, I’m kind of living in all 3 places. (!!!) In honor of my 11 country, 11 month journey… I’ll share 11 little tidbits about myself.
- I love Jesus!! Psalm 34:8 says ‘Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!’ I have seen what the world has to offer and I have seen that Jesus is so much better! He is SO GOOD! He is faithful! He has given me Hope, Joy, Identity, Purpose… and so much more! And…. I love Holy Spirit!! He is real and has so much He wants to accomplish today! I can’t imagine life without Him!
- I love people…. from everywhere! Babies….old people… and everyone in between! People are made in the image and likeness of God and there is so much beauty found in people. And there is so much to learn about the Lord from those who are made in His image.
- I love different cultures. I love to travel! I am at home surrounded by people of other nations, cultures, and languages. I love all of the colors, smells, tastes, and sounds of new places.
- Coffee! Coffee! Coffee!!! Coffee is the key to my heart. Coffee and dark chocolate! Coffee is my love language.
- I love to see people understand their true identity and begin to step into purpose. I love empowering people and seeing them recognize their own gifting and callings.
- My favorite colors are teal and orange and purple and green and….. really, I just like color!
- I love to laugh! Romans 14:17 says the Kingdom of God is righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. God is not an angry, depressed, boring God…and there is JOY in the Lord!!
- Justice is one of my core values. I want to be a voice for those who do not have the ability to be heard.
- I believe every person has something to say that is worth hearing… and I can’t wait to travel the world and hear stories.
- I believe the world is beautiful! Yes, there is pain, sin, and awful things in the world. But, heaven’s view of the earth is that it is full of the glory of the Lord (Isaiah 6:3). I choose to have the same perspective.
- I believe with everything inside of me that I am going to change the world!!
