Some days are harder than others. Here’s something I wrote in one of these harder times. But like every dark corner we encounter in life, God is faithful in flooding His light to the forefront of our minds.

In the setting of this poem, the light looked like the love in the eyes of the person beside me. It sounded like the women of my squad lifting Jesus’ name high in a country where false god’s are worshipped on every corner. And it felt like hope rising through my anxiety, and inspiring me to reach for a guitar.

.

Do you ever feel
like something big is about to happen?
But you’re unsure whether it’s good or bad?
I feel it
in a tremble in my chest
as I ghost through dark hallways.
I blend in with the wall
and sink into a shadow.
I want to beg the corner,
“Please. Please, eat me alive.”

Instead

I pick up a guitar.
I search for the eyes
belonging to the silhouette next to me.

Within moments,

I’m singing amongst angels.

Also, continue to be in prayer for my mom as she raises money to visit me in Nicaragua for Parent Vision Trip. And continue to be praying for good health and great ministry.

I’ll be praying that if any of you feel as if you’re in a dark corner, that you’d feel His light and His powerful, unending, love for you. Keep the faith.
