Hi friends,
My name is Rachel (also known as Rah-Rah to my niece and nephew). I’m 29 years old, currently living in Natchitoches, La. I am a Special Education teacher and I am about to start my 5th year of teaching.
I’m a small town girl from the woods. A town so small that my school was Pre-K – 12th and I graduated with 17 people. That’s right 17!! Needless to say college was a bit of a culture shock for me. But I loved growing up in a small town. My sister and I were constantly playing outdoors, building forts, exploring in the woods and having adventures.
I’m also a weaver. I work with fibre art to create woven tapestries. I taught myself this craft about 2 years ago and it’s something I do on the side that makes me happy. I love to create and work with my hands.
A few things that I enjoy:
-
coffee, coffee and coffee (aka “coff-coff”)
-
fall weather
-
my doggies (Louie and BonBon)
-
my family
-
basketball (don’t be fooled by my size…I can ball)
-
anything outdoors (freshwater fishing, hiking, biking)
-
animals, especially lions (more to come on that in a future post)
-
travel
-
my mama’s cooking
I definitely wouldn’t be here typing out this bio if it weren’t for my Savior. The last 7 years of my life have been seasons of some difficult personal trials, BUT, also many beautiful victories and triumphs. I praise my Jesus for them both. He is ever good, ever faithful. I’m so excited that I get to go on this adventure alongside my Papa. I hope you follow along on this journey with me.
