“The Rainbow Connection is a display of solar light modules suspended to form a shifting prismatic projection on the ground. The modules come together to form a canvas of light that explores the fantastical dreamscape of the deep sea, the woods, and the clouds. As the modules gently rotate and sway in the wind, the sculpture seems to come alive with shifting shadows, projecting the imagination of the creator.”
This display is in downtown Singapore and as I read that explanation for it, I could not help but see Kingdom in it. God’s Kingdom. Can you find it?
Look at the last sentence:
“As the modules gently rotate and sway in the wind, the sculpture seems to come alive with shifting shadows, projecting the imagination of the creator.”
Genesis 1:27, “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”
We were made to project the image/imagination of our creator just as this display was made to project the imagination of its creator.
That was the first thing I noticed. Then as I went back and read it again I saw even more.
Check out the second sentence…
“The modules come together to form a canvas of light…
Genesis 1:3, “And God said, “Let there be light” and there was light”.
….that explores the fantastical dreamscape of the deep sea, the woods, and the clouds.”
A canvas of light the explores the wonder of God’s creation.
So this display was designed to form a canvas of light that projects the beauty in nature and the imagination of its creator.
In the same way that…
God formed a canvas of light and uses His creation to project His beauty in the world.
But that’s not all…
God also created us to form a canvas of His light in the world to project His image/imagination. And that is his most prized creation. Us…his children.
Wow. That is Kingdom. Where do you see Kingdom in the things around you?
