Did you know that our God is creative?
Did you know that there are still so many things about this world that He created that humans have not even discovered yet?
Did you know that in Thailand there is a waterfall that you can climb?
Yea, a waterfall that you can climb. That is what I said.
Bua Tong Sticky Waterfalls is located in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The information below is from an online article.
“Waterfalls are notoriously slippery. One usually goes down a waterfall thanks to gushing waters and slick surfaces.
So how is it possible to climb up the Sticky Waterfalls?
The Sticky Waterfalls get their name from a mineral deposit that is incredibly grippy. In fact, the rocks feel like a hardened sponge. They are callous and even slightly prickly to the touch but surprisingly give a bit under pressure. Since no algae or slime adheres to the rocks, they are the perfect canvas to climb up the waterfall. It is impressively steep in some places, but with the aid of the limestone deposits on the stones, we felt like Spider-Man!
The Sticky Waterfalls are an impressive sight. The rocks are cream-colored and bulbous, almost cartoonish, and contrast beautifully with the dark green forest. And the water? Crystal clear and cool. It comes from a mineral spring so the waterfall is present year-round.
The surrounding forest floor is coated with moss and small colorful flowers. There are plenty of forest creatures like butterflies and water bugs, and there are even the occasional minnows.”
Isn’t that amazing? This is NOT man made. I mean how does God think of these things? I guess one day He just decided to put a waterfall in Thailand and make it possible to be climbed. I don’t know but one of my favorite things is discovering and sitting in awe of His amazing creation. If you ever go to Thailand, go check out this amazing creation of His.

Also, I was able to attend another Global Leadership Summit here in Chiang Mai. As I’ve been traveling the world, it’s been fun to still get to engage with my previous job with the Global Leadership Network. I’ve now been able to attend 2 GLS conferences on the Race, one in Colombia and one in Thailand. How fun to have two worlds collide globally!
Update:
We head to Cambodia today. We are preparing for this to be a harder month than usual. We will not have any air conditioning in the Asian heat and humidity, there are no grocery stores around (only local markets), we will most likely have little to no access to wifi, etc. However, these are all the things that we prepared to go on the race and not have access to anyway. It will be a challenge but I am actually a little excited to see how this will require more reliance on God than most months on this race.
With that, you may not hear from me that often but I will update when I can.
Prayers:
- Please pray for safe travel. We have an overnight bus ride to get to the border. Then we have the border crossing, and then more travel to get to our hosts.
- Please continue to pray for strength and perseverance as God is continuing to dig into the deepest parts of me and pull out the things that are not Christ-like. It’s been an incredibly hard journey but He is bringing so much fruit and He is completely changing me.
- Please pray for continued unity on my team and for sweet memories as this will be our last month together.
Thank you for continuing to pray and join me on this journey. Only 3 more months! I cannot believe it!
Below is my one (or two) seconds a day from Thailand!
