I can’t believe it!! After many months of thought and prayer, I am FINALLY committed to and going on The World Race! WOO!! Words cannot describe how excited I am!
It’s funny how life can change in almost an instant. Just a couple month ago, I was planning on graduating from The University of Georgia in May, applying to graduate school, and going on to get my Masters Degree in Social Work. However, God had something much more amazing planned for me.
A couple months ago, a close friend of mine told me about the World Race and I was instantly intrigued by it. I felt God calling me to go on a missions trip, but I was nervous and I was not sure if I wanted to give 11 months of my life to serving God and His people. The more I prayed and talked about it, the more I realized that The World Race was something that God was really wanting me to do. Even though I am nervous and I know the race will be challenging, I am very excited for this opportunity that the Lord has given me to serve His people and explore the world!
On September 2015, I will be leaving on an 11 month missions trip to 11 different countries: Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, Philippines, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Malawi, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. I have the great privilege to serve orphans, widows, children and women in human trafficking, and people who are living in poverty. I am so excited to learn about all the different cultures in these countries and to spread God’s love to the people that I meet. I cannot wait for this missions trip and what God is going to show me! I know that God is going to change me in ways that I cannot even imagine!
I have something to ask of all of you! I need prayer through this time of preparation. Pray for me that God will show me what to do in regards to fundraising and all preparations for The World Race. Pray that I will not worry and rely on myself, but that I would rely on God to provide for me.
I also need all of your help to raise the money I need to go on The World Race! Here are my fundraising goals for The Race:
