On Sunday, August 16th, I had the amazing opportunity to be commissioned by my home church, Intown Community Church. It was one of the best experiences of my life!
Jimmy Agen, the lead pastor invited me and another missionary, Alison Preg, on stage to speak to the church. Dr. Agen asked me questions about how I came to find and pursure The World Race and what I was going to be doing in these 11 countries. I was able to share with the congregation a short summary of my life story and how God changed my heart. I told them how I wanted to show others the love that was shown to me through serving the people and communities in each country. After we finished sharing, Mr. Glaze, who is one of the elders of the church and who has known me from birth, prayed over Allison and me and for our journeys.
That Sunday was one of the most special moments ever. It was so amazing to experience so much love from the church I had grown up in. I had parents and children come up to me after the service and hug me and thank me for sharing my story and passion. It was so amazing to know that I had the love and support of my church during my time on The World Race.
I want to give a huge THANK YOU to Intown Community Church and everyone who put together the service for allowing me to speak and share my story with the congregation. It meant so much to recieve prayer and support from the church! 🙂
