Hello!

My name is Rachel Witt and I am a participant on The World Race: route 3, September 2015!

Quick Bio:

I was born and raised in Atlanta, GA. I am 21 years old. I grew up with my parents, my older brother Joshua (22), and my two younger sisters Hannah (19) and Emma (9). I currently am a senior at the University of Georgia and I am graduating in May 2015. I am majoring in Psychology but I hope to pursue a career in Social Work.

My Testimony (Quick Version):

I was born and raised in a christian family. I attended the Presbyterian Church that my parents did and I went to a Christian school from 1st to 8th grade. Up until high school, I probably looked like a good Christian. I knew the answers in Sunday School, I followed the rules, and I read my Bible. However, I did not have a personal relationship with God. Because I did not truly know the love of God, I began to lose sight of God and christianity. I started to “rebel” in high school and I put most of my identity in the guys who I dated. Things only got worse when I went to college. I stopped going to church completely and I immersed myself in the party culture.

I finally hit a wall in January of 2014. I realized that the party scene was not enough in my life. I was depressed and felt completely alone. I knew I needed to change my life completely. So, I decided to do the only thing I could do at the time.. pray.

And God answered! I randomly came across a Christian organization (CCF) at UGA. They accepted me for who I was and they showed me love. I was  able to open up to them about my past and the burdens of my life. They helped showed me that God is love and all he wants to do is have a relationship with me. After I realized this, I felt a peace and a joy that I had never experienced before. I became a follower of Jesus and I was devoted to him 🙂

So, how did I find out about The World Race? I knew that I loved to serve others and I became interested in human trafficking and started researching ways in which I could help. I started thinking about the possibility of a missions trip. I was at a close friend’s house and I randomly brought up the idea of a missions trip. She showed me The World Race and we watched the preview video together. I was instantly intrigued. After a couple months of prayer and consulting with family and friends, I committed to The World Race! I cannot wait to serve and help others around the world!

My Personality:

I am very quirky. Maybe not in the way that most people think is funny but just in the awkward quirky. But that is ok because I am unique! 😀

I am LOUD! I get this from my family. I’m sorry but I only have one volume for my voice. The more excited I get, the louder I get.

I am very open and honest. I try to show who I really am to all people and I hope others do the same with me. I will try to be as open and honest as I can in my blog.

I am adventurous! I love to push my boundaries of comfort and explore places I have never been before. I love to try new things!
