HAPPY THANKSGIVING FROM GUATEMALA!

Yesterday my team and I spent thanksgiving with some of our new friends and family who we minister to on the streets of Guatemala City.
We got to bless them with loads of pizza, fried chicken, fries, tons of dessert and friendship. 🙂
Being able to sit with them, conversing in broken Spanish, many laughs were shared, acting silly throwing fries across the table aiming for their mouth, picture taking to remember this great day of thanks, wars over getting whip cream on each others noses, games and games of Luisa (it’s a game similar to “sorry”)
Seeing them devour the meal with a big ole smile on their face, over stuffing themselves and walking away with the anticipation of seeing us again on Monday.

I just love them all so very much.

Today I am a little sad to say I am not with my family back home in the great state of Wisconsin, with all that snow and chilly, chilly weather eating Grandmas famous Apple Slices, playing with my little baby cousins, nephew and niece, getting picked on by my hilarious uncles, sharing silly conversations and ping pong wars with my siblings, and giving all my access food that i thought i could eat to my papa.
I am very thankful and super happy i get to spend it here in Guatemala City with my Team (GEN7) I wouldn’t have it any other way.
God has blessed me with so many new experiences traveling to another country seeing people in situations i wouldn’t wish upon anyone.
He’s unraveling my identity and throwing it all back up just to see his purpose out of everything.
This is a verse I’ve been trying to memorize and just overall thinking about a lot.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10
“My grace is sufficient for you, my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore i will boast all the more gladly of my weakness, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.“
and with that, be thankful in and for all things for he is good.
XOXO, Rachel Esther. :)))))
