We have made it to the Dominica Republic safe and sound. We have only been here for a few days but it has been a great beginning to the world race. We are working with a church along side Team Steadfast Pursuit. We have been split into three working groups; I am in the cleaning group. We are responsible for making sure church is clean for service and English classes.

Everyone here is so generous and I am blessed to be getting to know them all. When we had church service last night we got to pray over some of the members. I prayed over two young girls that are sisters and after service I got to talk to them a little bit. The older girl could speak some English so it wasn’t too difficult to hold a conversation.

When we were leaving we hugged goodnight and she pushed out the words, “I love you!” in her broken English. It just about made me cry at the fact that something so simple as praying over them and having a short conversation made her already feel comfortable to be my friend. I look forward to the rest of this month and building these relationships.

I will post another blog in the next few days about how ministry is going. If you would like to follow me on Instagram or Facebook feel free to do so incase I can’t get a blog posted I can at least post on one of those and you can see some photos of my trip.
