Hey Everybody!

Welcome to my first blog post! Fair warning, I have never been a writer so stick with me. God has led me to this great adventure and I’m excited to get started! I was accepted just about 2 months ago and things have been moving along at a rapid pace since then. We are just a few months away from leaving and Training Camp is even closer. I know that there is so much to learn and experience along the way, even before we actually leave this country.

“Wow”. I cannot think of a person that hasn’t had this reaction once I told them I was going on the World Race. For the most part, everyone is so excited for me! I have a great support system and friends and family that have offered so much encouragement.

God has really spoken to me in the past few months on how to prepare for the World Race. I took the year off from school in January to figure out what I want to do in life. I have a lot of great friends here in Chattanooga and I have a great job but I think that God is leading me to a new start when I return from the Race. So in this process of having a new start, I feel that I need to sell 95% of my belongings before I go. At first, I couldn’t accept that I had to sell all of my stuff. I love all of my stuff, my clothes, my books, and my pictures. I wrestled with this for a few months before I finally accepted it. Once I accepted this in my heart, God gave me this peace that it was the right thing. So I have decided that out of all my belongings and keepsakes, I am going to keep 2 boxes. I have already begun the process of selling my stuff and I feel physically and mentally lighter every time I sell a box.

I have just begun my fundraising and I need all the help I can get. Our first deadline is coming up in just a month and a half! I am no where close to my first goal but I know God will provide. The song “Oceans” by Hillsong United has really been inspirational in my walk with God. If you haven’t heard it, I attached a link to the video.

So, thanks for sticking through my first blog! I hope to improve over time. If you feel called to support, there is a tab to the left of my profile title “Donate” that gives you a few options on donating. Also, if you have any questions please contact me! I would love to hear your feedback!
