So…some of you might be wondering why I had a blog up for like, 24 hours then took it down.
Well, I’m still learning how to listen to God, so I removed it in order to listen to Him.
But here is an explanation as to what happened!
I planned on deleting facebook after being really inspired by my friend, as I said.
I also was holding on to all the good things that came from my last facebook break,
thinking the same things would happen this time.
However, right as soon as I posted my blog and deactivated my account,
a heavy feeling of uneasiness came over me.
I ignored it, thinking that of course giving something up that can easily become addicting was a good idea.
God said a few simple things.
He asked “what if you are being selfish by not sharing this journey with people? What if you can look at facebook as a ministry tool instead of just a social network? Plus, lots of the good reasons you deactivated it are things you have already worked through…”
I was like “No, God…I…I…” I really had no comeback. But I still didn’t listen.
Finally, it was pressing on me so much that I had made the wrong choice.
I just said "okay, if I’m supposed to get back on, give me a sign."
(I’m sure we sound so funny sometimes with our ‘give me a sign’ requests!)
Anyways, I checked my gmail that night and had an email from a man who has hosted World Race teams before in Albania reminding me how while yes, it can be addicting, facebook is a huge tool in ministry and not to underestimate its usefulness.
It was an email challenging me to re-think my decision.
Well, that was all I needed to stick around the social network for now.
Sometimes the things I think are good for me aren't what God had in mind. That's okay with me.
Sometimes I just need to listen to God before He has to email me!
Anyways, thought that was a cool story worth sharing.
Here is the rest of the original blog I wrote before:
Due to some events this month, my team faith was shaken. I was challenged to really question my faith in God, in Jesus and who He is to me. I was tested, and made it through with some crazy revelations and truths. With only the help of God, I stayed grounded, reassured and strengthened in my faith all the more. It’s become a special thing to me, and I value my relationship with Jesus more than any good thing in my life.
Guys, this isn’t something to take lightly.
?I understand now that our personal faith has more value than gold.
You don’t realize how important something is until it’s threatened. What we have is so amazing!
You have faith.
You have the holy spirit literally inside you to teach you and guide you in all of life.
You have a high King, a best friend, a savior.
Spend all the time you can just listening to Jesus.
It will always be worth it.
I know we all have busy lives, and by no means does anyone want to be guilted into the whole “ahh I don’t spend enough time with Jesus” mindset, that sucks. I hate that heavy feeling!
But the thing to remember is you don’t have to spend time with Jesus, you aren’t obligated and God isn’t going to punish you if you don’t. (What God wants to be pursued out of obligation? Gross!)
He just longs for time with you. Longs to open your eyes to beautiful things, revelations unique to you, enhance special moments you might miss, and He wants to minister to your heart as you do the same to His.

We head to Europe next week!
We’ll be working with a church
in a small Moldovan town.
More details to come!
Love,
Rach
PS…I have loved every second of travelling the world with these 9 people. They have challenged me and grown me in amazing ways and I wouldn’t be quite the Same Same (but different) without each of them in my life. No matter what happens to us all, I will remember each of you with a great love.
And these ladies especially. Goodness, they’re the most gorgeous sisters ever, and all really weird and hilarious. They trust in God and we can tell each other anything. It’s crazy how close and cool and funny we all are. I mean really, we got dressed up one night to go eat noodles in a tiny shack of the side of a back road as a date. Talk about a classy GNO. 😀
