Awesome people deserve their own blog post. Actually they deserve a whole lot more than that, but this is my resource on hand. It is true—you are awesome.

I feel so

  • Encouraged
  • Thankful
  • Loved
  • Blessed
  • Supported
  • Special
  • Amazed
  • Cherished
  • Appreciated
  • Did I mention blessed?

God has provided over half of my funds in a very short amount of time. I have officially met the initial cost to leave the country ($6500) and then some. I need less than $7000 to be fully funded. You have been a part of that, and it makes me a little giddy.

I have amazing family, wonderful friends, and an incredibly special church family. People have stepped up in unbelievable ways to make this World Race a reality.

Fundraising was a really hard concept for me to submit to.  At first I wanted to try to save the funds on my own.
However, the numbers soon got to be very daunting and I realized the pride that kept me from asking for help. As it is, I am paying for a portion of this trip as well as my supplies out-of-pocket, and I would have it no other way. I do not think it is fair of me to ask for others to sacrifice while I myself am not giving anything financially. I consider this to be a partnership.

A missionary friend of mine gave me a great perspective about fundraising. Fundraising is not just about raising support, but also about getting people involved and allowing them to be blessed through the mission as well.

As hard as fundraising is, it has been so fun being able to catch up with the many friends I have not seen in a while. Being dependent on others is humbling but rewarding when the fostered relationships are considered.

I am so so grateful for the many of you who have gotten involved, not just financially but through prayer and encouragement. I hope you have been and will continue to be equally blessed by this experience.

I am all smiles.

: )    Over halfway there!   : )
