roosters crow, children cry and laugh all at the same time, the sun reaches the top of my window and my tent becomes to warm to stay in… I arise… to the new day that God has allowed me to be alive for… Time for business… KINGDOM BUSINESS
We awake in our home, dirt floors, tents set up inside to protect us from the bugs… we share a pot of sweet potatoes for breakfast get into the word of god. We prepare for what he has…
Have your way God. Use me God. Allow me to deny myself so that more of you will be in me!
I greet each pastor with the good ol african handshake… and we worship god together. we dance. there is freedom. there is nothing like it. we pray and then we are on our way.
Go before us God. prepare the hearts. Give me boldness. Talk through me. Save your people!
Village number one. My brother shares the gospel. I intercede. People accept Christ! We pray for healing. We say goodbye and we move on.
Sustain me God. UP UP SPIRIT DOWN DOWN FLESH.
We continue our journey. It is just as the disciples did… village to village, town to town on foot… sharing the Good News. At each village you find the biggest mango tree and wait for the people to gather, they come because they are hungry for God. Hungry for hope. Hungry for salvation. Hungry for love.
At one village God told me to leave the group and go help a mother with her screaming baby. She could not have been over 5 months old. I was not sure what I was going to do when I reached her, but the mom eagerly handed her over to me. I began to pray… As soon as I would say the word peace she would rest on my chest and take a deep breath… and then the battle would continue. She was fighting against herself. Evil spirits and voodoo and witchcraft had been casted over her from the moment she was born. Our pastor came over and pointed out that she had a Charm around her neck… a direct link between her and those that were casting spells on her. WE CUT IT OFF.
Deliver her Oh Lord. Give this baby PEACE.
I continued to pray and finally she calmed down!
One of many children that I have prayed for over the past few days… MANY, hundreds have come to Christ, praise God for that! and all because i made myself available.
I could write forever about the many people we have met and who have been given eternal life through HIS grace! Two village chiefs… now under the authority of the most high King, many mothers, many children, many fathers… God is so good! Praise HIM that I am here…
The end of day nears as my body begins to tire quicklly with the sun… we walk back. we find some available water and scrape the dirt from our faces and hands. We rest. We praise God for the day. We eat dinner, a simple rice or pasta with sauce when we are really favored.
I walk to the corner store to get a coke. I am greeted by two of the most beautiful children… hands stretched out waiting for me every day just to walk by… to get a hug, a finger to hold and a kiss on the for head. They are both under the age of 4… but gosh do I love them, and gosh does God use their little hugs to pour his love out on me.
Make it back to our home and dance and worship god with the village every night under the moon… and go to bed… praying for gods protection over my sleep… hoping and expecting for another day to live, another day to love…
this is my life. Praise God for this!
