Here on the race things seem to be so clear most days. It is
easy to peg something as of God or evil. It is easy to recognize when you act
out of flesh or respond in the spirit. It is easy to distinguish all the things
God provides for you, from the first breath of the day, to the food you eat, to
the lodging you have and even your health. You begin to rely on God and
actually look to him in thanksgiving for everything because in the blink of an
eye… it could all be gone.
God as my protector becomes very real. God as my provider…
very real. God as my sustainer… very real. God as my lover, my friend, my
daddy… very real. God as my Lord and Jesus as my savior… VERY real.
For some reason I think we seem to forget. Why is it so easy
to forget that every single thing about our lives is given from him!? And apart
from all the things and people he puts in our lives to enjoy, he is the very
reason we have purpose every single day. Without his Kingdom we have no
purpose… yet we forget. We wake up and think about our to do list. We wake up
and think about how someone offended us. We wake up and worry about things that
God has already planned on taking care of. We wake up and strive for things we
don’t have because we don’t know how to appreciate the things we have. We wake
up and look for joy in people, our jobs, our things and the way we spend our
time.
Friends, we are in the Kingdom. We have life and have it
abundantly. Instead of continuing to live aimlessly, it is time we put on the
inheritance we have and walk it out. Let’s not be a Christian body who lives
like the world. Instead, wake up every morning and praise God for everything he
gives you. If you cant fill a page every morning, you might check your
perspective. I have started doing this everyday… it has changed my life.
Instead of worrying, seriously stop and pray … right then and there. Instead of
gossiping, respond with a compliment about the person you were about to speak
death into. Instead of being miserable… praise God for what you have and ask
him for the things you want. Instead of putting our identities in things of the
world, boyfriends or girlfriends, our careers… ask God to show you what he
thinks of you and what your identity is in HIM. Instead of wondering why your
life is the way it is, open your word and recognize that you are ALIVE and it
is only because of Christ and in that LIFE he gives you a purpose. If you are
miserable or bored… time to get on the kingdom train, start pursuing the dreams
he gives you and for goodness sake get out and tell someone you love about the
Gospel. It was a gift given in order to continue giving… not to keep. GO
friends! GO!
Our lives are about worship. It is why we are alive. Glorify
Him with your actions, words and thoughts. Worship and pray… He is worthy is he
not!?
“Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being
sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at
the revelation of Jesus Christ. As obedient children, do not be conformed to
the passions of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, you
also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, “you shall be holy, for
I am holy.” And if you call on him as Father who judges, impartially according
to each one’s deeds, conduct yourselves with fear throughout the time of your
exile, knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your
forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the
precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot . HE WAS
