…and I'm pretty pumped about it. I've been thinking about it a lot lately and I realized that it wasn't until recently that we became so close. I mean I've been a 'Christian' my whole life, but I was never sharing secrets and painting toe-nails (so to speak) with the HS until… well, honestly… this year! Crazy when I think about it… What was I doing when we weren't being besties, I couldn't tell you? Well now I could because He revealed it to me!
I guess I hadn't wrapped my little ADD brain around the fact that GOD isn't just a boss, chieftain, ruler, order-giver, enforcer, man upstairs, etc, you get the point. Well, now that I'm on to you God, I'm seriously "livin' the dream!" It was like I just woke up one morning and decided to go beyond the motions and into truly and actively pursuing Christ! What a huge difference that's made in my life this past year! I mean, listen, just because I'm chillin' with Jesus and the Holy Spirit doesn't mean that everything is roses, unicorns and sunshine. I've still seen some hard times but where the difference lies is within me. My reactions are different, my capabilities have expanded and I know without a doubt that God is there for me to lean into.
Not only are the hard things I face now mountains turned into mole-hills, but I'm constantly learning. Like, I learned that the Holy Spirit likes hearing the word "NO" about as much as I do… so not very much at all. Boy did I learn that the hard way… Now that I know that about Him, my life has been grately enriched! Nothing is more fullfilling (at least in my humble opinion) than knowing you are doing God's will for your life. From the big stuff (i.e. Hey Chick, you need to go on the World Race), to the little stuff (i.e. Hey Chick, put your big girl pants on and go pray over your girl Tati… out loud, not in your head), I have never been more content. So here's to You my bestie, Holy Spirit, you are the bomb and I am so blessed that God sent down His own Son to die for me and allow His Holy Spirit to come and live in me. I am pretty excited right now that we're friends and can't wait to spend the rest of my life learning about You and letting You lead me!
