Friends, Family & Ministries,

Hey yall! Thanks for opening my letter. We’re already off to a good start! I know that some of you may know, and some of you may not know what’s going on/coming up in my life so; here is my attempt to share with you about some recent news in my life.

Over the past year or so I’ve become increasingly aware and burdened of the injustice of human trafficking.  The desire to discover more about this issue comes from my heart for kids.  Currently I am a young life youth leader, a nanny for two little girls and naturally gravitate towards the younger generation at most functions. So as you can see a lot of my time is consumed with young people.  Since last summer I have spent a lot of time reading, researching and discovering that human trafficking is basically a fancy word for modern day slavery. It is the fastest-growing criminal industry in the world affecting at least 27 million people, mostly women and children. Believe it or not there are more slaves today than ever before in history.

So this leads me to what’s next.

AIM (Adventures in Missions) hosts a mission trip strictly for people who have a passion for this issue. When I found this out, I felt my heart welling inside of me like it was exactly what I was made to do. I filled out the application and got accepted days later to serve as a missionary in their Human Trafficking Edition of the World Race from September 1- December 31, 2011.

I will spend four months in India, Thailand, Cambodia, and the United States focusing on prevention, outreach, and after-care programs to victims of human trafficking. On this trip, we’ll partner with local leaders, organizations and ministries creating awareness and education to at-risk populations. There will also be interaction with those already trapped in the vicious cycle of slavery in an effort to start the process of healing.

This is where you come in.

I humbly ask if you would consider partnering with me through prayer and finances. I need to raise $10,000 in order to participate. This covers all expenses: airfare, food, board, supplies, vaccinations, etc. If 100 people pledge a reoccurring gift of $25 a month for the duration of the trip or a onetime contribution of $100, I would have all of the necessary funds. Although the support can be given in several ways:

  1. An online donation- Click the “Support Me” link in the upper left side of this page and complete your donation as instructed.
  2.  A check or money order- Please make payable to AIM and return the attached response card with your donation to Adventures in Missions, PO Box 534470, Atlanta, GA, 30353-4470. Please also put my name in the memo line.
  3. A reoccurring donation- you choose the amount, beginning and ending date, and can be done from my blog. Simply click on the "Support Me" tab.
  4. Prayer- the blood of Jesus, mercy, boldness, health, hope and restoration
  5. Support one of my fundraisers- view upcoming ones on my blog

Slavery is a sobering issue and I know this experience will be challenging but I am confident this is the next step in my journey.  I believe this is only the beginning to walking out the passion God’s put inside of me that will continue to grow long after this trip.  Please do not underestimate how big of a role you can play in this great story. Thank you in advance for your support!

Join me, we were meant to do amazing things!

Grace and Peace
