God is doing BIG things, yet again! We are seeing His Kingdom at work throughout the nations with every new place we visit. Literally, heaven is advancing and breaking through. We’ve only been in Uganda for a short time but here are a few highlights of what’s been happening as of late.
Rose, a woman that lives with one of the teams got healed of Typhoid Fever. One night we were worshipping as a group and I felt the Lord speak about His desire to heal her. So, we invited her into our worship circle and God showed up. After about five minutes of singing and laying hands on her all of the pain and symptoms went away. Her countenance was restored and she couldn’t stop praising Jesus saying “In the name of Jesus I am healed! In the name of Jesus I am healed!”
A girl on our squad reached a point of “I’m sick of being sick.” She has spent most of her life battling different allergies and diseases and felt led to spend the day with Jesus fasting and praying, hoping for a miracle. Later that night we were in the church with dozens of little orphan Africans praying for her. Out of nowhere this one little boy clapped his hands three times. She felt like that was Jesus celebrating her miracle. She is believing by faith that He released her body from allergies and disease and walking in freedom.
Christian and I encountered a divine appointment with an African man. We were on our way to visit a team on a hot African bus when all the sudden a man came and sat behind us. He said “God told Him we were missionaries and part of The World Race, and that he was to come and talk with us.” I was astonished! For the next hour we chatted and exchanged life stories. It was so encouraging and life giving. We are meeting up with him at some point this week to participate in his ministry focused on worship and intercession for the nation of Uganda. So good!
Jon, our amazing English missionary friend that God literally dropped in our paths last month is in Uganda this week! He just ‘happens’ to be in Kampala the same days we are. He is a man of the Spirit and has a heart and passion for the Kingdom like I’ve never seen. God always does crazy things when he’s around. So excited to reconnect!
The people of A-squad are fully funded! Out of nowhere, thousand dollar anonymous donations started filling up people’s accounts. We still have one girl that needs about $5,000. We absolutely know that Jesus has got her but if you feel led to help in anyway please go to angelaharvey.theworldrace.org.
God is providing for the teams in different ways this month. Most of them are out in the bush with no running water or electricity. He is using this to their advantage- sweet family time, depth and community by candlelight!
Although, this didn’t happen this week it’s absolutely worth sharing. Last month I was taking a nap and when I woke up, there was a note and a brand new camera next to me. The note said “We want you to capture memories from your journey! From, people that love you!” O my gosh! Out of this world shocking!
The children of Africa are coming to know Jesus and using their child- like- faith to pray for the sick. Just the other day I was battling a headache. I went out on the porch to get some fresh air and hang out with the kids when this one little boy looks over at me and smiles. He moved closer and put His little hands on my head and started praying. The headache went away.
Dozens of woman at church on Sunday recommitted their hearts back to Jesus. Many of them faced oppression and shame. They experienced the power and grace of God in a new way and began dancing about in freedom.
I would dare to say that God is always up to something and that you are always invited to be a part. It’s up to you to ask Him what He’s doing and join in. You have a role to play in the story of God and his heart for restoration.
He so wants to invade this place with His glory. He so wants to encounter His people! He so longs for His creation to be restored. And, we get to play. We get to be apart of the process. We are called to not only reflect His glory but to DISPLAY His glory to the world. We get invited into the process of making this place look more and more like heaven. His desire really is to use me and you to destroy the works of satan and advance The Kingdom. This is incredible! Jesus himself was quoted saying "You will do greater things than I…" I am so humbled and celebrating His faithfulness today!
