Blogging. My arch nemesis. Okay, maybe not THAT bad, but it is something that has been very difficult for me to do on the race or even just in general life.
My logical mind is always conflicted with, “Well, I have Wi-Fi this month and update my Facebook with pictures and little snippets of what the day to day life looks like in each country” so, logically, why would I want to mentally exert my brain more than it already is each day by blogging.
Then I remember, “Well, there are people that want to know how my journey is going but might not be on my Facebook.”
But then I look back on how many times my blogs are read and it always seems so miniscule. Do people even really read them or just open the page? Do people really even want to read them or be updated outside of Facebook?
The end of the race is nearing fast. I mean I am in the last month! God has done so much this year. There has been so much heartache, so much joy, so much frustration, so much excitement, so much disgust but then hope, so much anguish but then relief, so much frustration but then peace.
A roller coaster of emotions, a roller coaster of feelings and a roller coaster of thoughts.
So much that it is hard to take the time to mentally stimulate my brain that is already always on to write down in a blog (that may or may not be read) my deepest thoughts, fears, joys, dreams, and hopes when I already do much of that on Facebook.
Especially since now I have to password protect my blog. People who aren’t connected to me VIA Facebook aren’t going to get the password. So again, my logic screams, “What is the point?”
I am always willing to admit there could be a point I am not seeing. So perhaps that is the case in this situation.
I decided, I have one month left on the race. One month left to share my stories deeper than they can be shared on Facebook sometimes (pictures, however, are way easier to share via Facebook. Come on AIM! Make an easier way to upload pictures to the blogs!)
At any rate, here is my attempt to blog more my last three weeks. Armed with cheap Vietnamese coffee and a great coffee shop down the road from our hotel I start my day with quiet time and then have the energy to WRITE. This environment seems very conducive for blog writing.
So here’s to writing my stories!
