Well the title says it all, easy to say it wasn’t my favorite morning in my life. Most of my team woke up very early to catch the children and hand out flyers to get out the word of an English club we are starting up. They go to school at 8 so we went out at 7:30 to catch the kids before they go to school. So we walked out, we got near the school and it started pouring rain. And there was nothing to hide under. So my teammates Maggie, Destiney, and I were three crazy Americans standing out in the pouring rain handing out these flyers for our English class. We got them all handed out pretty quick and then headed back. And got home and got some dry warm clothes and made some coffee.
But what this morning taught me was that ministry isn’t always fun, it doesn’t always come easy to be joyful, and sometimes it’s not your favorite thing in the world. But God still commands us to have a joyful heart and to serve him even if we may not be having fun, because get this, MINISTRY ISINT ABOUT US. Wait what? Yeah that’s right ministry isn’t about what you like to do it’s about the other person, and more importantly it’s about God.
So this situation made me truly realize that sometimes ministry is not at the most convenient time, and it may even be at 7:30 in the morning in the pouring rain.
