About a week ago, I found out who my new family would be made up of and I am soo blessed! My teammates are:

Jake Van Norman (team leader)

Robby Smith

Kendra Floyd

Laura Ludwick

Leah Mohrig

Stacey Compton

In all honesty, I would not have put this team together but I am so happy God did! It was definitely a blessing to us all! We have such a strong group already! I can’t wait to see how God puts our different gifts to work in the next year. We already love each other so much and we’ve only been a team for a week!! Its crazy!!

As soon as the World Race staff announced our teams they told us to go out and make a memory. Ours started by leaving the campground where we were having training and heading to get some food… not a surprise at all. We started at brooster’s for ice cream and desserts and then we headed downtown to an outdoor store called blue sky- I think everyone has grown to love outdoor stores because since we’ve signed up for the race its the only place that makes sense to shop for gear. As we were looking around we began to talk to the guy working there and it sparked a conversation about the WR. It was such a God thing because not long after the conversation started he said how crazy it was that we had come in that day because the night before he was laying in bed wondering how he could make a difference in the world! It was definitely a divine appointment and I can’t wait for God to open doors of opportunity in that guys life to do and be more:) Its going to be great!

After we shopped around, we went to dinner…eating…again. haha. We decided to go to a really cute restaurant called The City. The second we walked into that place we were blessed. You could tell God was just with us. People were so friendly! The cook came out and showed us the special for the day and then the owner came out to talk to us. At first he was just talking to us like any super friendly restaurant owner would but then he started talking about his love for God and even told us a story about the only ticket we need to get to heaven is in the cross!!! It was so crazy!!

The way that The City embraced us and encouraged us while we were there made our team feel like we should incorporate them into our team name.. which is when City Lights was born:) I mentioned to our team about how God has been constantly telling me to shine and to be a light for Him so City Lights was perfect!! Our team is so excited to be working to further His kingdom through love and I can’t wait to see how He does that through us! Please keep us in your prayers:)
