I had originally planned on leaving for the Race in October 2011, due to possible loan forgiveness. I had been working for United Cerebral Palsy in Madison and had I worked 40 hours a week for a 1 year, I would have gotten 15% of my loan forgiven. (At first, I didn’t hear the whole 40 hour part.)
I was told to apply anyway, so I applied for September (wasn’t able for October yet). Also, I didn’t know what countries I would be going to. It has always been on my heart to go to the Philippines, Swaziland and Romania. Well, come the day of my acceptance, I found out the route for September and 2 of the 3 are listed. Perhaps, Romania as well. However, I still had the loan forgiveness thought in my mind and that ended up falling through.
It’s funny how God works. I couldn’t imagine being on B-Squad (October 2011), even though they are great people.
My Family!
Z-Squad is my new family! I can’t be any more excited to hang out with 45 more family members for 11 months! They are from all over the U.S., Canada and England and from all walks of life. These people are amazing. God is so present in each one of these people it is crazy! These people have already been there for me and I respect them all very much! To see one of them leave would be very difficult!
Okay, so Z-Squad needs your help. Come August 18th (today) at 12:00 EST, each squad member needs to have raised $6,000. If this amount of support isn’t raised, unfortunately these people will not be able to race! This is really sad, as our love for each has grown so much! We are tight! There are a handful full of my brothers and sisters who do not have $6,000 yet. Would you please consider supporting 1 or 2 of them? Even $20 would be huge for them!
These are my squad mates who need your help! If you felt led, please give whatever you feel led to give! (On the left hand column of everyone’s page, there is a support me tab! It might say something different, but it’s similar to Support Me!)
