This is much overdue. I’m sure some of you have been waiting to find out what I’m doing as I’m preparing for the World Race. Well, I leave in 10 days on September 6th! Yeah, that’s right! 10 DAYS! I can’t wait! It’s been hard preparing, however the time has finally come to launch. EEK!!! 😀 Technically in 9 days, I will be leaving home for Milwaukee to stay with the wonderful Amaris Torres, a fellow Z-Squader. Our flight flies out at 6:30 AM on the 6th, which is quite early, but we can survive it-I mean we ARE World Racers! From there, Amaris and I will fly to Atlanta to be reunited with the rest of Z-Squad and have a few days of training at the base in Gainesville. So, from there we will fly to Manila, Philippines! WOOT WOOT! Here comes Month 1!

We are working with the “Philippine Christian Foundation Community Church” and our mission is to serve the poor communities around Manila! We will mainly be based in “Tondo” (the main dumpsite), however, we may help out 2 other sites in Manila as well.
Our duties include:
-Serving at feeding programs
-teaching in kids clubs/kids church
-speaking at youth groups/youth drop-in centers
-prayer walks & house visitations
-mural project
-general practical help with buildings
-house building/shanty repair
-helping in the creative arts program
-community cleaning
We will be staying in a hostel at a place called “Friendly’s Guest House Manila”-in a dorm style room with 12 beds. The language spoken is “Tagalag.” We will be at this ministry sight from September 13th- October 10th
