Oh how He loves us.
Love– a word that I am fortunate to hear
a lot from many people, but I often forget
the true meaning of this word.
LOVE
selfless, sacrificial, unconditional love, or God’s love.
I was reminded of this first in the scriptures I read this week.
Matthew 7:11- “Don’t bargain with God. Be direct. Ask for what you need. This isn’t a cat-and-mouse, hide-and-seek game we’re in. If your child asks for bread, do you trick him with sawdust? If he asks for fish, do you scare him with a live snake on his plate? As bad as you are, you wouldn’t think of such a thing. You’re at least decent to your own children. So don’t you think the God who conceived you in love will be even better?”
Romans 8- Do you think anyone is going to be able to drive a wedge between us and Christ’s love for us? There is no way! …
I’m absolutely convinced that nothing—nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable—absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us.
And reminded again when I was approached
by a friend at church today:
Shi’Anne approached me with a loving embrace. She said “Rachel, Jesus loves YOU. I was praying for you and he wants me to buy you a pedicure. I don’t know why I am supposed to do that, but he said to. And he says Rachel, Don’t miss the journey.”
Unbeknownst to Shi’Anne- I literally had expressed my desire YESTERDAY for a pedicure, but decided I couldn’t spend the money on it right now.
My Father loves me so much he will bless me even with a silly pedicure.
WHAT!
As for that “don’t miss the journey” part…
Well Satan is up to it again–
Racers if you are reading, and friends
who are called to God’s plan-
the enemy knows you well. He isn’t just going to distract you
with easy temptations.
Satan is using my very situation (fundraising) to distract me
from what God has called me to do.
What a sneaky Devil.
But, Praise Praise Praise!
We are covered by the blood of Christ!
The precious blood that washed us clean.
See.. most of us, as christians, know this;
however
We have to use it.
Satan lies to me and tells me I have to tackle fundraising
on. my. own.
that is impossible.
I have neither the funds or the energy,
but with the blood
I WILL LEAVE IN JULY
Kevin Eakin spoke at church today. Here are his wise words:
“God doesn’t supply us for our need, but for our hunger for him”
I will have the funds for my race in July,
Jesus paved a path for me and
called me into his will.
They will come, but as I hunger for more of Christ,
my savior, the blessing will be unimaginable!
How many times do we miss what God has for us,
because of our expectation?
I want to be funded now, but I think God is
holding out because he has
more.
