Thus far I have gotten to dig and dig and dig in order to serve the local church, as well as fill in a massive hole just outside the hospital that used to collect water and attract copious amounts of mosquitos that carry Malaria..
I have gotten to fall in love with many children and love them with His love and play with them and just ENJOY them as He does.
I have gotten to share the gospel with strangers with my words and actions.
I have gotten pray and pray and pray and ask the Father for things in faith and on the behalf of those around me.
I have seen God do so much in me and through me and despite me.
But I'm beginning to realize it's less about what I do and more about who He is…
It's less about me & all about Him.
John 3:30 comes to mind.
"He must increase, but I must decrease."
This morning I woke up early and had a sweet alone time with the Lord. It was beautiful outside and He blessed me with a thankful heart. I prayed and gave thanks to Him and for Him for an hour before I even cracked open my journal or Bible. It was highly enjoyable. :)))

Today I read 2 Corinthians 3 & 4, which just reinforced my thoughts about how it's not about me, even though I tend to act that way and forget to maintain an eternal perspective.
"Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God" [2 Corinthians 3:5]
"For if what was being brought to an end came with glory, much more will what is permanent have glory." [2 Corinthians 3:11]
"But their minds were hardened. For to this day, when they read the old covenant, the same veil remains unlifted, because only through Christ is it taken away." [2 Corinthians 3:14]
"For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake." [2 Corinthians 4:5]
"So we do not lose heart. Though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is being renewed day by day. For this slight momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal." [2 Corinthians 4:16-18]
It was all a great reminder for me to take my eyes off myself and my temporal circumstances & to fix my eyes on Christ and His Kingdom.
I am really thankful for everything that the Lord is showing me and teaching me here. It is a huge privilege to be here. Thank you to everyone who is helping make it possible!
A support update: I need another $875 by the 30th in order to meet my $11,000 deadline and
continue on the Race [I will need another $4,500 to be fully supported]. I am trusting the Lord to raise this amount and provide me with old and new supporters to partner with me financially.
Would you please consider supporting me financially?
If you decide to do so, please send a check made out to "Adventures in Missions" with "Rachel Lamb" on the memo line to Adventures In Missions, PO Box 534470, Atlanta, GA, 30353-4470 [preferably as soon as possible since it can take up to 2 weeks to process]
OR you can donate online at my blog: rachellamb.theworldrace.org. Just click the “Support Me” link in the upper left side of the page and complete your donation as instructed. 🙂 [that only takes a few days to process, but subtracts a 3-5% processing fee from your donation].
Thank you in advance!
Another way to support me and the ministry here is through your prayers!
Would you please be praying for the hearts of the people here in Palacaguina as we prepare for a large outreach called "Love for Nicaragua." It is a three day event [on the 23rd, 24th & 25th] where we are expecting about 2,000 people. Pray that the Lord would soften the hearts of the people; that He would call them to Himself and that they would choose to accept Him and His love!
I am so grateful for all your prayers & know that the Lord hears and answers them all :))
