I am exhausted.
I am worn down; I am lacking physical strength and mental motivation to do much of anything else the rest of today.
Yet I told my team that my highlight of today was exactly what topped off my overwhelming feeling of exhaustion.
We had a full day working on building George's house, a survivor of child sacrifice. We formed assembly lines to move bricks, loaded up wheelbarrows to mix big batches of cement; we laid the cornerstones of the house and began constructing George's home!! We now have the foundation and first several layers of bricks laid, which is pretty exciting as it is obvious progress. The days before we did the groundwork.. digging and dispersing some of the bricks, and then spent an entire day fetching water in order to mix the cement today.

[Our first day of construction at the church. It was my first time mixing cement!]

[We had a system. Mix it up at the bottom and pass it up and along to the people on the roof through a couple people on the ladders].
It is amazing how much longer projects take on the World Race. People are your tools and there aren't shortcuts or machines to do the work for you/ make it easier. That was actually a part of an interesting conversation that I had with my friend, Sofy, in Maasai Mara last month. I asked what she thought was strange about America and she commented on how we have so many machines; "I understand that you have a machine called a dishwasher to do your dishes for you…" was one of her remarks. [The other was about how negotiations with your children regarding chores etc exist. :)]
The Race is continually teaching me more about myself, the Body of Christ, God Himself, as well as other cultures. It truly is a blessing to be on this journey! & I pray that I am tired by the end, that I wouldn't hold back or withhold love from those I'm with, that I wouldn't have any regrets.
Please pray that I would make the most of my final couple months. Pray for strength and endurance to run the race set out before me in whatever that looks like… spending more time in prayer, playing with the kids at the house "after ministry," fasting and praying for child sacrifice to end.
PLEASE let me know if there is ANY way I can be praying for you!!
***********and FINALLY, I am $372 short of being fully funded. Please consider blessing me by helping me finish the race and not having to worry about needing anymore financial support 🙂 *****
