Month 3 in Vietnam was incredible, and I promise that a long and satisfying update is coming soon. First, I have a big prayer request, and a personal goal I hope you will help me reach!
Last year on New Years Eve, I received my first donation for the World Race. I was ecstatic. It is an incredible feeling knowing people in your life support what you are doing enough to join in that journey with you.
I thought I would be still fundraising today, $17,000 was a really daunting amount. God moved in huge ways (sometimes I don’t even like to do the math because it feels like too big of a big miracle) and I was fully funded in just over 5 months, completely by donation. A huge THANK YOU to those of you who helped make that happen.
Many of my squad mates, even a few of my teammates, aren’t yet fully funded. The deadline for this is the end of January, meaning if they can’t reach the goal, they may have to go home with 7 months still to go! Many on my squad are praying and even fasting today, focusing on prayer for financial provision for the squad. We started this together, and we want to finish it together!
Will you consider giving me a huge gift by supporting one of my teammates? 4/6 still need funding, and I have a big goal: that my entire team would be fully funded by 2017! My hope is that they can rest easy and serve more intentionally for the last 8 months of the race without the stress of fundraising vying for their attention. That is 3 days to raise about $5,000. I believe this is totally possible! Despite being in a closed country (which makes it more difficult for them to fundraise due to extra blog and social media security) and despite the limited time, I really think this is going to happen.
