Normal Christian living is laying our hands on each other when we are sick. It is praying in faith for miracles and healing to happen. It’s worshipping our brains and singing at the top of our lungs. It is dancing like a fool, not caring what others think of you. It is speaking life into our brothers and sisters through words of encouragement and edification. It is declaring God’s truths to the mountaintops. It is bearing one another’s burdens and carrying each other through times of weakness.
We are called to pray without ceasing, to soak ourselves in the word, to have fellowship with others, to care for those less fortunate than us. This doesn’t fit into nice 10-minute time slots or 5 bullet-point checklists. But this is how we are called to live. It isn’t meant to be radical or unusual. It is meant to be normal. It is how the Christian church began in Acts 2.
You don’t have to travel to 11 countries to experience this. You can start right now, in your home, at work, at school, in your church.
Acts 2:42-47
They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
