Time for some happy news!
I turned 25 on Thursday, and this week I have felt blessed to celebrate with my friends and family. Next year, like most of us, I will celebrate my birthday while on the race (in Tanzania?).
The week before last, I was hitting a mental wall with support raising and feeling discouraged. Then I met with a gentleman from my church, and he agreed to support me. That same day, I received a check in the mail from my great uncle. With these two donations alone, I will have enough for training camp, which was a huge encouragement!
I also held a bake sale at my church which was very successful and made me feel so supported. I have also been doing some babysitting to raise money, and more people have agreed to support me. I really appreciate people being willing to sacrifice their finances to support me in The World Race; I know these are hard times for almost everyone.
The amazing thing is that through your financial support you are partnering with me on this incredible journey! Although everyone may not be able to go on the Race, by supporting me you can be a part of me doing relief work in Haiti, reaching out to prostitutes in Thailand, and holding orphans in Uganda.
In total, I have raised almost $3,000 so far, including monthly pledges! 🙂
