I need to have $5,000 physically in my support raising account by December 15th in order to launch for The World Race in January! I have about $1,000 left to go, and am getting closer every day!
As most of you know, the total cost of the trip is $14,300.
So where, does the money go?
There is a percentage that goes towards administrative costs, field support, and program development, but a majority of it is used by us in the field.
For all of our flights to 11+ countries, The World Race's goal is to spend $3,400 on airfare, which I find to be pretty amazing.
We have a total budget of $460 per person per month for all field expenses. Here is how that breaks down…
$3.75 per day for food = $26.25 per week and $116.25 per month
$5.25 per day for lodging = $36.75 per week and $162.75 per month (hey, that is pretty cheap rent!)
$3 per day for local transportation = $21 per week and $93 per month)
$90 per month major transportation costs such as buses
$10 per month for important things like toilet paper and translators
We as a team are held accountable for keeping track of every dollar we spend. Adventures in Missions is committed to being good stewards of the money people donate to them.
The more I am able to raise before I leave, the more I will be able to focus on my minstry once I am on the ground.
One of my squad mates put it like this:
"When we need to fundraise on the field, that means time away from our ministry sites to focus on calling/e-mailing/blogging to try to raise funds. I would like to spend every day while I am gone ministering to those in need. When I call/e-mail/blog I want to be able to share stories of healing, restoration, and ministry, not asking for money. I want this blog to be an extension of the ministry that I am doing around the world and to be something that will bless all of you who read it."
So please consider making a donation in any amount! $14,300 is daunting, I know, but could you give $5? $10? You can also give monthly. If 150 people gave $5 a month or 75 people gave $10 a month for the next year, I would be fully funded!
You can donate online by clicking here
Or you can also send checks made out to Adventures in Missions, PO Box 534470, Atlanta, GA 30353-4470 (Make sure to write Rachel Iverson- World Race in the memo!)
Thank you to everyone who is supporting me through prayer and finances!
