I cannot believe how fast time is flying by! It seems like just yesterday I was in Georgia meeting my team for the first time, meeting all my squad mates, wishing to be anywhere but in the Georgia humidity…
And now I only have 3 days left in the country! WHAT?!
Funnily enough, buying all the stuff for this adventure was the easy part. I had no idea that fitting everything in ONE backpack would be such a feat. I kind of feel like I am trying to pack Mt. Everest into a plastic grocery sack!
And I haven’t even tried to fit it all into the backpack yet!
And yet, while I still have quite a few more things to do before I get on my plane on Saturday at Noon, I am at peace with my departure. I will miss my bed, I will miss my amazing roommate, I will miss my Wisconsin family (and all my other family), and I will miss the sound of my boots crunching in the snow. However, God has me on this crazy journey for a reason, and I know it is going to be life changing. And while I will miss everything I hold dear here in Wisconsin, I know that I will not regret this trip.
Well, unless I am otherwise motivated, this will be my last blog pre-race! I thank everyone who has subscribed to follow and pray for me over the next 11 months, and I hope that you will be encouraged by what God teaches my squad, my team, and myself.
See you in Guatemala! (Figuratively speaking of course!)
