So, I don’t know if you guys know this, but we have been teaching children A LOT.

Three times a week, minimum.

I also don’t think you guys knew that I really did not like children before this trip.

If all they do is crawl, babble and drool, I will hold them for hours.

Once they start back talking, I usually walk away.

Well, I had to get over that this month.

This is Ngei Primary School. Deliverance Church Southlands, my home church this month, meets in their auditorium every Sunday.

It is honestly hard to believe how many kids and young adults go here.

But, anyways, every Friday we come here at 8:15AM. They have morning announcements, a small sermon from a local Preacher (like Pastor Joseph a couple times) and then the Moral Teachers (us) have about 30 minutes to teach them whatever we want.

Wait, what!?

If we even tried to say the name of Jesus in the States, we would probably get thrown in jail or something…well, maybe not jail, but we certainly would not be greeted with smiling teachers every week.

See that guy in the red? That is James. He has been my evangelism buddy since the first day, and my co-teacher every Friday.

But, on my first week, I didn’t know what to teach them. They are about 8-10 I think, and I really, really don’t like hanging out with that age group. They take more patience than I possess, but God knew I needed to be there.

The morning of, I realized that I needed to come up with 20 minutes of material. So, I decided to talk to them about Satan.

I know, you’re like, WHAT? You taught children about Satan??

Yes. In Guatemala, we went to a school that taught four year olds about Satan and spiritual warfare, and it was really cool.

So, I told them about him, and the armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18).

That went well, so the next week I taught them about spiritual gifts.

SIX kids gave their life to Christ after class.

Now, at this point, I am wondering what God is doing. Don’t get me wrong, I want everyone to believe in Jesus, but could these kids really understand what they had just agreed to?

So, yesterday, I taught them about the Gospel. From Genesis to Matthew.

And eight more kids gave their lives to Christ.

I was blown away.

And this is only month one in Africa!

So, I have a couple more blogs coming in a few days…

Sorry the end is so abrupt, but I have to go!

I will edit this more in a couple days.

Love you guys!

(And I still love virtual hugs = comments)
