The countdown is here-Two weeks until training camp!
And during that whole two week countdown I'll be gone co-leading a backpacking trip with school. Oh the joys of life
Today I took my first trial run of packing for 11 months and I must say it went quite well.
I had made a list of everything I needed to bring so i laid it all out and started packing.

When I finished I amazingly still had room left.
Weight was only 33 lbs! Oh yeah! ![]()
The weight limit for most countries for checked luggage is 50 and for some Asian countries is 40- so I'm doing good right now…we'll see what will change by the time end of June rolls around and I do it for real 🙂

Packing and living like this for 11 months excites me. What I'm bringing with me is the necessities for living and not much else. It is freeing to me to be able to live without many material possessions. It leaves me free from the physical clutter that can become a burden or distraction. Without it, my mind can be free to focus on other things.
What is intimidating for me to think about is leaving everything I've ever known-
family and friends.
hometown.
church family.
having all the good food I can eat-and if I don't like something or not in the mood for it, being able to choose something else.
freedom to be able to drive wherever I want or go wherever I want.
a quality place to work
electricity
libraries
safety of being able to go out running or biking on my own
restaurants
washing machines and dryers
having a plan of what I am doing and where I am going
All of these things makes a part of me not want to leave but I know there are bigger things ahead that I can't even imagine!
