In so many ways, this trip isn’t my World Race. There are so many people partnering together, filling different roles behind the scenes such as praying, giving, and encouraging. It’s impossible for me to claim it as my own.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for those filling those roles back at home. I can’t even count the number of times I’ve shared the story of this beautiful picture of the body of Christ working together. You are the reason I’m able to be here. I signed up committing to raise $15,500 by December 31st. That number seemed catastrophic at first but I know since God has called me to it, He’s already provided. Several have committed to monthly and quarterly giving but, unfortunately, some are unable to fulfill that commitment. This leaves me in need of more than I thought when I left. As of right now, with pledges, I have $14,400. By the end of the year, I need $1,100. I’ve come to realize that support raising isn’t about me asking for money but about giving others an opportunity to partner with me. Paul says it well in Philippians 4:17, “Not that I am looking for a gift. The opposite is true. I’m looking for your resources to increase.” I’m asking so that you have the opportunity to give and make a difference around the world. This isn’t my World Race. If you are someone who wants to partner with me through giving, here’s some options: Give online: Click on the “Support Me” tab on the left. This walks you through how to give and is probably the most convenient way to give, BUT there is A CATCH! 5% of the gift you give online is deducted from my trip to go toward credit card fees. If you’d rather not do this, you can…. Give by mail: You can also find the information to do this by clicking on the “Support Me” tab on the left. Choose the “give by mail” option and it will give you the address to send it to. Put “Rachel Balson” on the memo line of the check. When giving by check, the full amount goes to my trip. Feel free to pass this information along to any people you know who might be interested in partnering with me. Thanks for your support! |
