Watch this short video to hear a moving prayer for Nepal and to see some of this beautiful country!
For the fourth month of the race we’ll be living and working in Nepal. I’m taking one country a week in the order that well be visiting them and praying specifically for it. This week is Nepal. Here’s some information about the country and what can be prayed for.

A bit of history:
Nepal is a country that has been a monarchy for most of its history. In 2006, after a 10 year long civil war and mass protests by all political parties, peace negotiations were made. A vote was made in favor of creating a democratic republic and the monarchy was abolished. The first president was sworn in on July 23 2008.
Facts about Nepal:
-Slightly larger than the state of Arkansas
-Located in the Himalayas, between India and China
-Contains 8 of the 10 tallest mountain peaks in the world. Tallest one is Mt Everest!
-Contains 240 peaks over 20,000 feet
-Population: 29,852,682
-Largest Religion: Hindu- 80%
-Official language: Nepali
Answers to prayer:
The political change that has happened in the last several years with Nepal becoming a democratic republic. This paves the way for Christian ministry in the country.
Need for Prayer:
-The stability of the government. With just having become a democratic republic there is much to be done to establish stability in the country.
-The Maoist rebels, considered a terrorist organization, still have some power in the country that is going to corrupt the country if they continue to hold that power.
-Wisdom and courage of the leaders of the country as they work through the major political disagreements that are happening and the economic problems in the country.
Any of you been to Nepal or know someone living or working there? Any other specific things we can pray for about this country?
