Vietnam is a large, narrow country occupying the entire eastern and southern coastline of Indochina. It's' about the total size of New Mexico. It's right next to Thailand and Cambodia, where we'll be the two months before Vietnam.
The country was under France rule until it became an independent nation in 1954 after three decades of war until the North and South both came under communist rule in 1975. The communist party maintains control of the country today.
Vietnam is the second largest rice exporter in the world. They also export a significant amount of seafood.

Answers to prayer:
-A growing church despite years of persecution.
-There is a growing number of Bibles being printed in Vietnamese and in the tribal languages that are being released with permission from the government. This is a continual need as the church is spreading and in need of these Bibles.
Challenges for Prayer:
-Being one of the few communist countries in the world there are many restraints of freedom on the people. There are also many common social ills such as prostitution, drug addiction, and exploitation of children. Pray that the darkness over this country would be lifted.
-Leadership development and theological training are urgent needs. As the church grows so does the possibility for false teaching if there are few people properly trained.
