We’re in India!
Our travels over the weekend went smoothly and we arrived safely in New Delhi.

For our third ministry site we’re in New Delhi, India  at Asha Mission Children’s Home.  Asha is currently home  to 33 children ranging in age from 1 to 17 years old.  The  home sadly only has about 5 rooms in it.  There are 2  bedrooms for the kids with only 6 beds in each room.  Most of  them sleep on the flat roof at night since it’s  cooler anyways. Mr.  and Mrs. Sarma run the place with  the help of two other full-time  workers.  They also have  many World Race teams come to help. We’re the sixth  this year. It is a Christian organization and the  Sarmas  do a wonderful job of teaching God’s Word to the kids and showing them what it looks like to live out the love of God.

Our team is sharing a small two-room apartment. This is the middle of the second largest city in India so I know we probably have some of the nicest accommodations.  We’re extremely blessed  with running water, a shower, and fans to cool us off at night.

Our ministry is to simply play with the kids, help them with  their homework, and help with chores while the kids are at school. They are filled with joy and energy and love playing with us. Every evening they have a service where we tell a Bible story, sing songs, and teach memory verses.  These kids are impressive with the amount of Scripture they can recite!

We’re striving as a team this month to really be able to pour into and encourage the Sarmas and the workers.  Their jobs are 24/7, without a break.  Once we get a feel for the place we’re hoping to be able to help more with the cooking, buy dinner for the kids and cook one night, possibly buy some new dresses for the women, and give them a day to go into the city and enjoy some time off.

View from our apartment building roof- seven floors up.  Too bad we're on the first floor 🙁 Climbing all those stairs  everyday would be great exercise!

Pray for me and my team this month as we love on these  kids and encourage the workers at Asha! That we can be  purposeful with our time and really pour into the people  here. Thanks for your prayers and support!
