2 Timothy 4:2 says, "Preach the Word! Be ready in season and out of season."
We need to be ready to do our best anytime.
We may have a time where we feel so on fire for God, loving Him, and wanting to give Him 110%. And then there are times when our human nature gets the best of us and we slack off, not keeping up that relationship and failing to do our best for the Lord.
Oswald Chambers says that, "the proof that our relationship is right with God is that we do our best whether we feel inspired or not."
Let's strive to not only be ready but let's do it! Let's be our best that we can be for the Lord all the time. And when we think we're doing our best let's look for ways to improve and be even more for Him.
I think part of being ready is always listening for the voice of God. It may come from many different places or people. It's being attentive and recognizing and obeying that voice when He does call that's important.
What do you think? How do can one be ready in season and out of season?
