Team changes, once again
At the end of our time in India, we had team changes and we were told that this would be our team for the next eight months. I was excited about that but didn’t hold onto that statement too closely knowing the nature of this life- ever changing. Good thing I didn’t because two weeks into the month, my new teammate, Steve, decided he was leaving the Race to go home. There were several reasons he was leaving and we were sad to see him go but we are excited to see where God takes him after this. So now, our team consists of 1 guy and 4 girls. As far as we can tell, we’ll be together for the remainder of the trip…but we’ll see what God has in store!
New continent
Our original race route of 11 countries had us going to Rwanda, then Kenya, then Uganda. Well, we're instead going to Kenya first and then Rwanda. We fly out of Kathmandu, Nepal on the morning of the 13th to Nairobi, Kenya, arriving Monday morning. We’ll be there for a debrief with our whole squad from the 13th to the 18th and then head to ministry sites. My team will be in Nakuru, Kenya and so far we don’t know much about what ministry will look like there.
It’s hard to believe we’re going into our fifth month on the race. Someone just pointed out to me today that we’re almost halfway through! Crazy. I feel like time has stopped and it’s still July. I’ll be talking to someone and tell them I just graduated two months ago, which in July would have been true, but then stop and realize that it’s now been six months! Time flies when you’re having fun.
