I am assuming that most people who visit this blog know me… but for those of you who don't, I'll give you the opportunity to get to know me a little.
My name is Rachel Anderson, I am 25 and living in the beautiful (and very rainy) Portland Oregon. I work as a nanny for two of the most beautiful and wonderful little girls, ages five and three. I love them very much and am sad to be leaving them in four months when I leave for my "world race".
Outside of work what do I do? Well, the list of what I don't do may be a shorter route to take, but we'll try this… I love the outdoors: hiking, running, ultimate frisbee, anything! If I can be out in the sun I am a happy person. Photography- I love taking photos! Be it of buildings, night lights or people, I love it. Though I am kinda silly, I hate it when someone tells me what to take a picture of… haha, I get a little cranky if you try 😉 Hanging with friends, reading a good book, music…. the list could keep going, but we'll stop there.
As I said above, I live in Portland. But I grew up in a tiny little town called Trout Lake. You've never heard of it? Don't worry, most haven't. It is a beautiful little dairy farming community in Washington, right at the base of Mt. Adams. When I say tiny, I mean tiny… my graduating class was 18 people (yes, that was high school graduation). After high school I went to Bolivia, South America for 5 months. Living and working in an orphanage. That is where my love for missions first formed, and quite frankly my relationship with Christ as well! Never went to college, who knows if I ever will, it might still happen.
After I came home I jumped straight into the working world. Over the last 6 years I have moved around, done a variety of different jobs and gone on a couple more missions trips, which has all lead me to where I am today…. ready to start this next adventure!
