How unlike me, posting a few days after being in a country! When the Lord moves, you’ve just got to roll with it though…

I came into this month unsure of how I could possibly do 7 more months of this, but God obviously had a plan to rejuvenate my love for what I know He has called me to.

Our entrance to Cambodia was less than graceful, in fact we were dropped off in Siem Reap on a median while the bus was still moving. The guy was pulling our bags out from under the bus while it was rolling and we had to yell for the bus driver to stop because two of our teammates were still on the bus. At that point all I could do was laugh and say, Lord make this month what you will.

Upon arriving at the orphanage our team could sense there was something different about this place. After dropping our stuff off we were taking to the pool because all of the kids had a special outing that day. Immediately we were all in love with the kids. Today as we got to know our host more and what life would look like this month would look like, the excitement grew.

Tonight, when it got dark all of the kids dispersed. We went back to our room assuming they were getting ready for bed, but a few minutes later we heard drumming and voices. Intrigued a few teammates and I went to check it out. We walked into a room full of kids, eyes closed and hands raised, just praising the Lord. It was the most joyful noise that I have heard in a long time. In that moment there was no language barrier or anything separating us. No one worried about how they sounded or couldn’t smile at the undeniable presence of the Holy Spirit.

The presence of God is so evident here and powerful beyond words. I’m so excited to see what abandoning all barriers looks like and to simply be with the Father in a community who love Him with all they’ve got.

More updates to come… after all it is only day two!!

Much love.

Also, if you feel led, please donate to help me stay on the field! I’m only $750 away from being fully funded!!!
