This month has been challenging for me simply because it has been a lot slower pace then I anticipated. If you know me you would understand why that is challenging but it has been good for me. It has helped me understand better how the world race is not a missions trip but an organization that helps you lead a new life style. Ministry does not need to be a super organized thing, when life is ministry and ministry is life, it just becomes part of who you are. You don’t need to wait for a missions trip or a special church service to do the thing. It can just simply be a Wednesday. Every day is an opportunity to be filled with the love of the Father and give it away and to expect Him to be present because He is. He doesn’t only show up for big planned events he is everywhere all the time.
God has been reminding me over and over that we are not loved because of what we do. He doesn’t want us to just serve Him, He wants us to serve WITH him. This will be a concept we may never fully understand this side of heaven but we can chose moment by moment to be WITH Him and to let Him be with us and to make a way for others to be with Him. He is and has always been more interested in our hearts than our good deeds.
We are called to love everyone not just the ones we agree with or that we like. We need to love the people who are difficult and even annoying. We can learn from them. Jesus hung with people that didn’t agree with him and he even choose to have his last meal with someone he knew would kill him. If we want to be like Jesus we need to do what he does and he loves the difficult people.
