How many times do we go throughout our days not really noticing anyone? We’re busy. We have an agenda. We have somewhere to be. We can’t be bothered. We acknowledge those we know and only talk to those we need to.

What if I told you that at some point you’ve come across a slave in your life? If you haven’t come across one then they might live near you. Or might know or heard of them. You probably think “Wait if I had come across a slave or knew of one then I’d know. Right?!?!”

Human Trafficking, also known as modern-day slavery,
is the fastest growing criminal industry in the world.

27 million people are in modern-day slavery across the world today
1 million children are exploited by the global commercial sex trade every year
161 countries are identified as affected by human trafficking–the United States is near the top of that list
32 billion dollars is the total yearly profits generated by the human trfficking industry
800,000 every year are trafficked across international borders
14,500-17,500 foreign nationals are trafficked INTO the United States each year
12-14 is the average age for first involvement in prostitution

The numbers are staggering. Heartbreaking. Real. Now that we know them we can no longer say “Sorry I didn’t see you there”. Once upon a time we fought to end slavery. Let us fight again!

Will you join me and my team as we fight this battle? As we intercede on behalf of these people. Will you fight and intercede for them?
