You ever seen the scean in Coyote Ugly where the whole bar starts yelling “HELL NO H2O! HELL NO H2O!” Well I swear this is what our house was yelling at us a few weeks ago. We went about a week without water. In that week though the fact that we didn’t have water never really bothered me. But as the days went on God did show me a few things.

First of all it truely was God that showed my dad that we were havin problems. He walked in the back yard and there was a mini pond in our backyard. We thought we were only going to be without water until my dad dug up the pipe and saw how rusted it was.

As days went on I realized how much of a small inconvience it was to not have water. Couldn’t wash dishes, couldn’t take a shower, couldn’t go to the bathroom. Though I could brush my teeth cuz we had some bottle water.

So what does a person do when they don’t have water and no vehicle to get around in during the day…Well I resorted to having to go pee in my backyard a few times. Yes I peed in my backyard. No worries it’s fenced in so no one could see hah. I had to walk to my sister’s to go take a shower and even had to take one at the church one day. Our dishes built up. And late at night if I had to go drop a duece I went to a convient store. Yes I went specifically for that purpose.

So you’re probably wanting the whole lessons from God part right.
There was a day when I smelled like pee (when we thought we were only gonna be without water for a day my mom peed in the toilet and didn’t flush a few times so if you walked in there it smelled bad) and I couldn’t get the smell out of my nose. It was gross and I wanted it to go away. There are people all over the world that smell like this and worse every day. They can’t escape it. It is a blessing to be clean. And soon (at least for awhile) i wont be able to escape the smell.
Just because my house didn’t have water didn’t mean I didn’t still have acces to water. I could easily walk across town to my sisters. There are people all over the world that don’t have that luxery. Why? Cuz they don’t have running water in the first place. Cuz no one in their village has running water. They must go get water in buckets and carry them back. Having running water is a blessing. Even when it goes out on you.
Late at night I could still use the car to go somewhere to use the restroom. There are people all over the world that don’t have vehicles. They don’t have a store they can run to for things. Even as simple as a restroom break. Having a vehicle is a blessing. Being able to run the the store is a blessing.

Do you get it yet?! Can you see that something we use everyday. Something we don’t realize how much we “need” is something that many people all over the world don’t have. These things are blessings. And we take them for granted. I went a week without water in my house. But in reality I still had water. It was an inconvience but I still had it. Think of those who don’t.

Is there something in your  life you “need”? Something that millions of people around the world live without. Be thankful today for you are blessed.
