How does it look to love like Jesus? To always put others above ourselves? What a humble life to live. The Lord tells us “Love the Lord you God with all your heart, soul and mind. Love your neighbor as yourself.” Those are the greatest commandments for a reason. Love is so important. You can’t have both love and hate in your heart; it’s impossible. If you love people then your actions should show it. Your words should glorify Him because why wouldn’t you want to talk about the Alpha and Omega, the Almighty, the Creator of the universe? He should be consuming our thoughts. When you love something with all your being, it shows. You thirst for it. Your conversations will be pointed towards Him. Your worth will be found in Him. How deep and beautiful that love is.
We have been so incredibly blessed with our host here, a man named Harvey. He is a true man of God. He always puts everyone above himself. He wanted to love us even before he got to know us. He truly loves the way God intended. It’s such a selfless love. What a blessing it is to see people like this.
We will never be able to comprehend His love for us. In the end, when He asks if you followed His commandments, what will your answer be? Did you love people the way He told YOU to? I want Him to look at me and say “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Its our own decision whether we’ll love the people God puts on our path the way He would or if we’ll decide to act in the flesh and not be an example for Him, which never ends well. You usually end up hurting yourself and the other person when you take things that should be in God’s hands into your own. The Lord gives us a decision to love the way He does or not to. It’s all up to us. Open your heart up to Him. Give Him your whole heart.
